The Fish is well known for its speed and ability to cross flat and fat sections. This is why most people think it is just an alternative board to surf mediocre waves (which is a common lack of education). This is also why the surfing community thought that a smaller and wider board, especially when promoted as a retro board, meant that is hasn’t enough capabilities in decent surf and could not serve as a performance board. But the fish is not just a basic design created to surf small and slow waves. It was actually designed to challenge powerful waves, and the feedback was amazing. Under the right feet, its possibilities are limitless, as are the feelings they can give you.

One of this design’s most recognizable characteristics is the effortless ability to generate speed. Water flows fast and freely between the fins and at the end of the tail. At the same time, the straight curve through the outline improves the hold on the wave, creating less drag and generating more speed through critical sections. The generous volume comprise within such a small board helps with paddling and also on staying high on top of the water.
The traditional and original keel fin completes and sparkles the ultimate ride of a fish. With a base twice the size of a regular fin, the template and curve of the fins are all about stability and control. Adding to this performance characteristics, the fins are single foiled and super flexible, enabling quick and responsive turns.
